INDIANAPOLIS – Catawba has been ranked No. 7 and Wingate No. 8 in the latest NCAA Division II Baseball southeast region poll.
Regional rankings are used by the NCAA Division II Baseball Committee during the championship selection process. The bracket will be announced on May 11.
Catawba and Wingate shared the SAC regular-season title after each going 20-7 in conference play. The Indians are currently 32-17 overall, and the Bulldogs are 32-16 overall.
Catawba has already secured a spot in the NCAA Championship by virtue of winning last week's Food Lion SAC Championship title. Wingate – the tournament's runner-up - will be looking for an at-large selection to the field.
