Catawba’s Brooks Leads SAC Baseball All-Tournament Team
The 2014 Food Lion SAC Baseball Championship All-Tournament Team was announced on Monday morning, with Catawba pitcher Craig Brooks leading the group as the event’s Most Valuable Player.
FOREST CITY, N.C. – The 2014 Food Lion SAC Baseball Championship All-Tournament Team was announced on Monday morning, with Catawba pitcher Craig Brooks leading the group as the event's Most Valuable Player.
Brooks won a pair of games for Catawba in its run to the SAC Championship title. He threw six shutout innings in the Indians' tournament-opening 11-2 win over Anderson on Thursday, and followed with six shutout innings in Sunday's 10-0 championship game victory against Wingate.
Brooks allowed a total of just eight hits while striking out 15 in the two appearances. The performances lowered the SAC Pitcher of the Year's ERA to 1.97.
