Harrell Named South Atlantic Conference Assistant Director
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference welcomes Tariah Harrell as the league's new Assistant Director, the conference office announced this week.
Harrell joins the SAC staff after completing her collegiate athletic and academic career at Wingate University. A four-year member of the Bulldog track and field team, Harrell worked with the Wingate Sports Network where she was a camera operator for all of the sporting events. She was able to capture lifetime moments for student-athletes and parents with some amazing people, including her older brothers, TJ & Trae. This experience helped her explore her passion of working in athletic communications and beyond.
According to SAC Commissioner Patrick Britz, "We are thrilled to have Tariah join our staff. Her previous experience, in addition to being a former SAC student-athlete, will make her an asset as we continue to serve 13 member institutions and over 6,000 student-athletes."
In addition to her bachelor's degree, Harrell has received her Masters of Arts in Sport Management with a focus in Athletic Administration and Compliance from Wingate University. The past two years she served as the Graduate Assistant for Community Standards while overseeing and supervising the University Honor Council and Co-Chairs. She helped educate students about Wingate expectations and their rights in the Community Standards process as well as, develop and implement programs to prevent policy violations and cater to the needs of the current student population.
Harrell will assist with day-to-day operations, championship preparation and facilitation, meeting and planning, and any additional needs of the SAC office. She will begin her duties as the Assistant Director at the SAC on August 2.
