The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Men's Lacrosse Players of the Week, March 20
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Lenoir-Rhyne's Mike Hanlon has been selected the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, while Ryan Applegate of Catawba has been selected the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for matches played Mar. 13th-Mar. 19th, the League announced today.
Hanlon, a senior from Haymarket, Virginia, totaled five goals and an assist in the Bears' 12-11 overtime victory against Tusculum last Saturday. He also added a ground ball and a shot on goal percentage of 81.8 percent for the week. Hanlon currently leads the South Atlantic Conference in points with 40 and leads the league in assists as well with 20 on the year. The honor marks his first Player of the Week selection this season.
Applegate, a senior from Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, allowed only five goals in Catawba's 14-5 conference win over Mars Hill. He made 13 saves over the course of the competition to finish with a 72.2 save percentage. Applegate also added an assist and two ground balls to his stat line this past Saturday. He is currently ranked No. 1 in the League with 120 saves. The honor marks his first Player of the Week selection this season.
