WePlayed Sports Volleyball Players of the Week Announced for Week Six

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its WePlayed Sports Volleyball Players of the Week for matches played during week six of the 2024 season. Tusculum's Madison Adkins was named the Offensive Player of the Week while Wingate's Maddie Hoffman brought home Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Adkins, a senior from Olive Hill, Ky., helped Tusculum to a 2-0 week with wins over Emory & Henry and Coker. The setter averaged a whopping 11.50 assists per set in the two wins and totaled 69 assists for the week. She handed out 37 assists against the Wasps and followed that up with 32 more helpers against the Cobras. She added four kills, two service aces, 15 digs and five block assists.

Hoffman, a junior from Fenton, Mo., piled up 52 digs for the Bulldogs last week, leading Wingate to two more SAC victories. She needed just three sets to pick up 23 digs against Coker, adding two assists. Hoffman tied a career high with 29 digs in the five-set win over Carson-Newman, as the Bulldogs handed the Eagles just their second loss of the year, while adding three assists and three aces. Hoffman had just one reception error in 24 attempts on the week while averaging 6.50 digs per set.
