The South Atlantic Conference Announces WePlayed Sports Volleyball Players of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its WePlayed Sports Volleyball Players of the Week for matches played during the sixth week of the 2023 season. Lenoir-Rhyne swept the awards, as Sydney Karjala was voted the Offensive Player of the Week and Kathy Peter was voted the Defensive Player of the Week.

Karjala, a freshman from Pinehurst, N.C., led Lenoir-Rhyne to a pair of wins with four kills, 93 assists, and three service aces to go with 42 digs and a block. In the game against Newberry, Karjala recorded 48 assists and 30 digs and went for 45 and 12 against Limestone.

Peter, a senior from Carroll, Iowa, had 16 blocks in two wins this past week to go with 21 kills. In the 3-2 win over Limestone, Peter had six solo blocks and 10 total blocks along with five digs.
