The South Atlantic Conference Announces Seeds for 2022 Volleyball Championship, Carson-Newman Wins Mountain Division, Wingate Wins Piedmont Division

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) –Wingate won the 2022 South Atlantic Conference Volleyball Piedmont Division Championship and Carson-Newman took home the 2022 SAC Volleyball Mountain Division title. With the titles, the Bulldogs have earned the No. 1 seed in the Piedmont, while the Eagles will be the No. 1 seed in the Mountain for next week's South Atlantic Conference Volleyball Championship.

The Bulldogs finished the regular season with a 17-1 SAC record. The Eagles closed out the regular season with a 16-2 league record.

Mars Hill earned the No. 2 seed in the Mountain division with a 13-5 SAC record. Earning the No. 2 seed in the Piedmont division was the Lenoir-Rhyne with a 13-5 conference record. Tusculum earned the No. 3 seed in the Mountain with a 12-6 SAC record, while Anderson took home the No. 3 seed in the Piedmont with a 13-5 record in SAC play. Lenoir-Rhyne won the tiebreaker with Anderson by virtue of a 2-0 head-to-head record. 

Rounding out the field of eight are Limestone and Newberry as the No. 4 seeds in both divisions. Limestone finished with a 7-11 SAC record and Newberry was 8-10 in league play.

The 2022 South Atlantic Conference Volleyball Championship quarterfinals will be played at the highest seeds on Monday, Nov. 7, before moving to the Rock Hill Sports and Events Center in Rock Hill, S.C. for the semifinals and finals on Nov. 11 and 12, respectively. The South Atlantic Conference Tournament Champion receives the League's automatic bid to the 2022 NCAA Volleyball Championship.

Game 1: #1 Carson-Newman vs. #4 Newberry, 7:00 pm

Game 2: #2 Lenoir-Rhyne vs. #3 Tusculum, 7:00 pm

Game 3: #1 Wingate vs. #4 Limestone, 7:00 pm

Game 4: #2 Mars Hill vs. #3 Anderson, 7:00 pm
