The South Atlantic Conference Announces Astroturf Volleyball Players of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com)– The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Offensive and Defensive Volleyball Players of the week for matches played during the tenth week of the 2021 season. Wingate's Shannon Kasprak takes the Offensive Player of the Week honor, while Limestone's Bailey Carpenter was named Defensive Player of the Week.

Kasprak, a senior setter, helped lead the Bulldogs to a 2-0 record this past weekend after opening the week with 52 assists, 25 digs and six kills in their win over Mars Hill. Kasprak went on to garner 42 assists, 18 digs, two blocks and six kills in a sweep over Lenoir-Rhyne. Overall, Austin, Tx., native averaged 13.43 assists per set, 6.29 digs per set and 1.71 kills per set. This is Kasprak's second Offensive Player of the Week Honor this season. 

A senior libero from Lawrenceville, Ga., Carpenter helped the Saints to a 2-0 record this past weekend with a sweep over Queens and a thrilling five-set win over Lincoln Memorial. Overall, she averaged 6.25 digs per set for 50 digs and seven assists. She also went on to add four service aces, and two kills. This is Carpenter's first Defensive player of the Week Honor this season.
