The South Atlantic Conference Announces Astroturf Volleyball Players of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com)– The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Offensive and Defensive Volleyball Players of the week for matches played during the fourth week of the 2021 season. Wingate's Shannon Kasprak takes the Offensive Player of the Week honor, while Lenoir-Rhyne's Rachel Bewick was named Defensive Player of the Week.

Kasprak, a senior setter and reigning SAC Player of the Year, helped lead the Bulldogs to a 2-0 record this past weekend. She opened the week with 13 kills, 17 digs, and 52 assists in their five-set thrilling win over Queens. She closed the weekend with a sweep over Catawba adding 33 assists, three kills, and four digs to her repertoire. Overall, the Austin, Tx., native averaged a .462 hitting percentage, 2.63 digs per set, 10.63 assists per set and .50 blocks per set. This is Kasprak's first Offensive Player of the Week Honor this season. 

A senior Libero from Greenville, N.C., Bewick, helped the Bears to their perfect 2-0 record this past weekend. Overall, she averaged 5.75 digs per set after picking up 46 digs with wins over Mars Hill and Limestone. She went on to collect seven assists and two service aces putting her at number three in the conference for digs per set. This is Bewick's first Defensive player of the Week Honor this season.
