The South Atlantic Conference Announces Astroturf Volleyball Players of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com)– The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Volleyball Players of the week for matches played during the first week of the 2021 season. Carson-Newman's Megan Oldenburger takes Player of the Week honors, while Queens Brooke Farley was named Specialist of the Week.
Oldenburger, a senior outside hitter, helped lead the Eagles to their first conference win over Catawba this past weekend. She tallied 18 kills, 19 digs and two aces to kick off her senior season. Overall, the Cedar Rapids, IA., averaged 4.5 kills per set, 4.75 digs per set and had a.259 hitting percentage. This is Oldenburger's first Player of the Week Honor this season.
A Junior setter from Fort Mill, S.C., Farley, helped lead the Royals to their first conference win over SAC reigning champions Carson-Newman this past week. She averaged eight assists per set totaling to 24 assists overall while adding seven digs, four kills and one ace. This is Farley's first Specialist of the Week Honor this season.
