The South Atlantic Conference Announces Week Six AstroTurf Volleyball Players of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com)– The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Volleyball Players of the week for matches played during the sixth week of the 2019 season. Queens Casey Tarvin takes Player of the Week honors, while Anderson's Emily Conlin was named Specialist of the Week.
Tarvin, a junior outside hitter, helped lead the Royals to a 2-0 record in conference play this weekend. Tarvin recorded back-to-back double-doubles in the two wins, moving the Royals into a tie for second-place in conference standings. She tallied 20 kills and 17 digs in a five-set win over Anderson and 13 kills and 18 digs against Newberry. This is Tarvin's first Player of the Week honor this season.
A senior setter from Glendale, Az. Conlin posted a pair of double-doubles on the week, while averaging nearly 50 assists and 18 digs per match. She began her week by putting up 48 assists, 15 digs and two service aces in a road win against Catawba, then went on to match her season-high 51 assists and 21 digs against Queens. On the week she accumulated a total of 99 assists and averaged 11.00 assists per set. This is Conlin's third Specialist of the Week Honor this season.
