South Atlantic Conference Teams Hold Six Spots in NCAA Volleyball Southeast Regional Rankings
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference posted six teams in the NCAA southeast regional rankings. Wingate checks in at the top, while Anderson is No. 4, Lincoln Memorial comes in at No. 6, and the 8-10 places are filled by Carson-Newman, Lenoir-Rhyne, and Mars Hill.
The Bulldogs have clinched home court advantage in the upcoming SAC Volleyball Tournament with a 24-1 (17-1 SAC) record.
The Trojans are on a four-match win streak and come in with a record of 25-3 (16-2), including an upset of previously undefeated Wingate.
With a 17-7 (13-5 SAC) mark, the Railsplitters have moved up to sixth in the region.
The Eagles went 2-1 on the week to climb to No. 8 with a record of 13-12 and 9-9 in the SAC.
The Bears have lost two in a row to slide down with a 17-9 overall mark and 11-8 in SAC competition.
The Lions of Mars Hill have won two conference matches in a row, and are now at 16-11 overall and 10-9 in conference play.
The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process and will continue to be released each week by the NCAA Division II Volleyball Committee up to the NCAA Championship selections.
