The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf Volleyball Players of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Volleyball Players of the Week for matches played from Sept. 17 through Sept. 23. Wingate's Phoebe Havenaar garnered the Player of the Week award, while Anderson's Emily Conlin was named Specialist of the Week.

A senior middle, Havenaar led the Bulldogs to a SAC sweep at Carson-Newman, bringing Wingate's record to an impressive 11-0 (4-0 SAC). On just 15 swings, the Naperville, Ill. native collected 10 kills with zero errors, for a .667 hitting percentage in the match. Havenaar also added two assists, two digs, two block assists, and a service ace to round out her performance. This is Havenaar's first Player of the Week honor in 2018.

Conlin, a junior setter, helped lead the Trojans to a perfect 3-0 week, with a pair of conference sweeps. The Glendale, Ariz. native handed out 119 assists (10.82/set), collecting her fifth and sixth double-doubles of the season in the wins over Newberry and Lincoln Memorial. She also racked up five kills, three aces, 36 digs, and five total blocks in 11 sets played. Conlin continues to lead the SAC in assists, assists per set, and aces. This is Conlin's third Specialist of the Week honor of the season.
