The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf Volleyball Players of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Volleyball Players of the Week for matches played during the first week of the season. Coker's Taylor du Bray was named the Player of the Week, while Anderson's Emily Conlin, was named Specialist of the Week.
A junior from Highland Ranch, Colo., du Bray led the Cobras to a 7-1 record to start the 2018 season. Along the way she racked up 111 kills, 13 assists, 16 services aces, 76 digs and seven total blocks. Her 4.27 kills per set average ranks first in the SAC, as does her 111 kills. She had four double-doubles during the week, including a 28-kill performance against UNC Pembroke. This is du Bray's first Player of the Week honor.
Conlin, a native of Glendale, Ariz., led the Trojans to a 7-1 record to open the season. She totaled 266 assists, with 73 digs, 10 kills and nine total blocks during the eight-match span. She leads the SAC in assists per set with 12.09 and is second in total assists. She recorded 30-plus assists in four matches and had a season-high 50 assists in the Trojan's 3-1 win over Indianapolis to start the year. This is Conlin's first Specialist of the Week award this season.
