Top Seeds Advance in the Quarterfinals of the 2016 South Atlantic Conference Volleyball Championship

 

 

#1 WINGATE 3, #8 TUSCULUM 1

WINGATE, N.C.----The top-seeded Wingate University Bulldogs survived a tough test from eighth-seeded Tusculum College Tuesday night, but ultimately prevailed in four sets in South Atlantic Conference Tournament quarterfinal action in Cuddy Arena. Wingate won by scores of 26-24, 20-25, 25-17 and 25-23 to improve to 27-5 overall, advancing to Fridays semifinals. Tusculum ends its season at 12-19 overall. #4 QUEENS 3, #5 ANDERSON 1

CHARLOTTE, N.C.  The Queens University of Charlotte volleyball team earned a spot in the South Atlantic Conference semifinals on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, going 3-1 over Anderson. The Royals saw a 25-12, 25-18, 19-25, 26-24 victory over the fifth seed in the tournament Anderson. Queens, the No. 4 seed, moves to 20-8 on the year as Anderson's conference play concludes with a 19-12. FULL RECAP 

 

#2 LINCOLN MEMORIAL 3, #7 LENOIR-RHYNE 1

HARROGATE, Tenn. -- Samantha Cash (New Carlisle, Ohio) amassed a season-high 19 kills while Abby Cash (New Carlisle, Ohio) produced a near triple-double to lead the second-seeded Lady Railsplitters (24-7) to a 3-1 win over the seventh-seeded Lenoir-Rhyne Bears (12-18) in the quarterfinal round of the 2016 South Atlantic Conference Volleyball Championship on Tuesday night at Mary Mars Gym.
