The South Atlantic Conference Announces Seeds for the 2016 SAC Volleyball Championship

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Wingate won its 11th-straight South Atlantic Conference Regular Season Championship as it captured the 2016 Title.  With the crown, the Bulldogs have earned the No. 1 seed in next week's South Atlantic Conference Volleyball Championship, it was determined today as the Conference season concluded this afternoon.  Wingate finished the season with an 18-4 Conference record.

Lincoln Memorial earned the No. 2 seed as it finished the South Atlantic Conference season with a 17-5 record.  Newberry and Queens turned in identical 16-6 South Atlantic Conference records.  Newberry broke the tie and earned the No. 3 seed with its 1-1 record vs. Wingate as Queens went 0-2 vs. the Bulldogs.  Anderson finished the SAC regular season at 15-7 and will be the No. 5 seed, while Catawba earned the No. 6 slot with a 13-9 League record.  Lenoir-Rhyne's 10-12 SAC record was good for the No. 7 seed.  Tusculum and Mars Hill finished the season tied for the No. 8 position with 7-15 records.  Tusculum earned a berth to the tournament as the Pioneers were 1-1 vs. Newberry and Mars Hill was 0-2 vs. the Wolves this season after each squad was 0-2 vs. Wingate and Lincoln Memorial.

The 2016 South Atlantic Conference Volleyball Championship quarterfinals will be played at the highest seeds on Tuesday Nov. 15 before moving to Wingate University for the semifinals and finals on Nov. 18 and 19, respectively. The South Atlantic Conference Tournament Champion receives the League's automatic bid to the 2016 NCAA Volleyball Championship.  The Conference Championship schedule is as follows:
