The South Atlantic Conference Announces Seeds for the 2014 SAC Volleyball Championship

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Wingate won its ninth-straight South Atlantic Conference Regular-Season Championship as it captured the 2014 Title. With the crown, the Bulldogs have earned the No. 1 seed in next week's South Atlantic Conference Volleyball Championship, it was determined today as the Conference season concluded this afternoon. Wingate finished the season with a 21-1 Conference record.
Carson-Newman claimed the No. 2 seed as it finished the Conference season at 20-2. At No. 3 in the seeds is Anderson, who turned in a 16-6 South Atlantic Conference record. Tusculum and Lenoir-Rhyne posted identical 15-7 Conference records; however, Tusculum earns the No. 4 seed by virtue of the tiebreaker, leaving Lenoir-Rhyne as the No. 5 seed. Lincoln Memorial's 12-10 Conference record was good for the No. 6 seeding, while Mars Hill and Newberry also finished tied in the standings at 9-13. Mars Hill owns the tie-breaker over the Wolves to garner the No. 7 seed as the Wolves round out the seeds as No. 8.
The 2014 South Atlantic Conference Volleyball Championship will be played at on the campus of Lenoir-Rhyne University and begins on Friday, Nov. 14 and runs through Sunday, Nov. 16. The South Atlantic Conference Tournament Champion receives the League's automatic bid to the 2014 NCAA Volleyball Championship. The Conference Championship schedule is as follows:
