The South Atlantic Conference Announces Volleyball Championship Match Time Adjustments; Alters Catawba at Lenoir-Rhyne Football Kickoff
The South Atlantic Conference announced a schedule change for the 2014 SAC Volleyball Championship that will be hosted on the campus of Lenoir-Rhyne University the weekend of Nov. 14-16. The match time adjustment will alter the kickoff for the Nov. 15 Catawba at Lenoir-Rhyne football game
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced a schedule change for the 2014 SAC Volleyball Championship that will be hosted on the campus of Lenoir-Rhyne University the weekend of Nov. 14-16. The match time adjustment will alter the kickoff for the Nov. 15 Catawba at Lenoir-Rhyne football game.
"In an effort to ensure Lenoir-Rhyne can adequately host the semifinals of our volleyball championship in addition to its regular-season finale in football versus Catawba on that Saturday, a collaborative decision was made to adjust these start times," said South Atlantic Conference Commissioner Patrick Britz. "We appreciate the efforts of the entire staff at LRU and the willingness of Catawba to be flexible in order for both events to be conducted in the best manner possible for the student-athlete and fan experience."
Historically, the SAC Volleyball Championship semifinals have been played at 1:30pm and 4:00pm on Saturday, with the Championship match being played at 2:00pm on Sunday. The new match times for the Saturday, Nov. 15 SAC Volleyball Semifinals will now be 5:00pm and 7:30pm. The Sunday, Nov. 16 Championship contest will now be played at 3:00pm.
The kickoff for the Catawba at Lenoir-Rhyne football game has been pushed up from 2:00pm and will now begin at 12:30pm.
