LEXINGTON, Ky. – Six SAC volleyball student-athletes have earned spots on the AVCA All-Southeast Region Volleyball Team, and Wingate's Shelton Collier has been named the region's Coach of the Year, it was announced on Wednesday.
Leading the SAC's representatives on the AVCA All-Region Team are three Wingate players, including Anna Hilton, who has already been named the SAC Player of the Year and the Daktronics Southeast Region Player of the Year. Hilton is joined on the team by fellow Bulldogs Alison Cooke and Lexi Potter.
Also earning AVCA All-Region accolades are Tusculum's Caitlyn Dean – Division II's all-time leader in digs - and Lincoln Memorial's Kaitlin Walton.
Dean receives All-Region honors from the AVCA for the third time in her career, while Hilton and Potter have now earned two selections apiece.
Additionally, LMU's Casey Mense was noted as an honorable mention selection to the team.
Collier, meanwhile, has now won the organization's Southeast Region Coach of the Year four times during his tenure at Wingate. He led WU to both the SAC regular-season and tournament titles in 2013.
