Anderson’s Pittman, Newberry’s Mayor Named SAC Volleyball Players of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Anderson's Hailey Pittmann has been named the SAC Volleyball Player of the Week and Newberry's Chelsea Mayor the league's Specialist of the Week, it was announced on Monday.

Pittman averaged 4.25 kills per set and hit an impressive .417 last week as Anderson picked up conference victories over Lincoln Memorial and Carson-Newman.

Pittman opened her week by posting 24 kills, seven digs and five blocks on Friday in a 3-2 AU win over LMU. She then had 10 kills, three digs and two blocks on Saturday in a 3-0 shutout of Carson-Newman. The junior committed only four attack errors combined in the two matches.

Pittman currently ranks 7th in the SAC in kills at 3.19 per set.

SAC Volleyball Specialist of the Week | Chelsea Mayor, Newberry

Mayor, a senior setter, averaged 10.62 assists and 3.0 digs per set last week as Newberry went 2-1. She got the week started on Tuesday with a career-high 52 assists to go along with 17 digs in a 3-1 non-con-conference win for the Wolves at Lander.

On Friday, Mayor finished with 46 assists and nine digs in a 3-2 Newberry victory against Carson-Newman, then had another double-double of 40 assists and 13 digs on Saturday in a 3-1 loss to LMU.

Mayor also recorded five kills, five blocks and three aces on the week. Her average of 8.86 assists per set currently ranks third in the conference.
