Wingate’s Murach, Tusculum’s Dean Earn SAC Volleyball Weekly Awards
Wingate outside hitter Susie Murach and Tusculum libero Caitlyn Dean have been selected as the SAC volleyball weekly award winners after leading their teams to undefeated weeks, the league office announced Monday.
ROCK HILL, S.C. – Wingate outside hitter Susie Murach and Tusculum libero Caitlyn Dean have been selected as the SAC volleyball weekly award winners after leading their teams to undefeated weeks, the league office announced Monday.
Murach averaged 4.17 kills and 3.17 digs per set in Wingate's victories over Lees-McRae and Lenoir-Rhyne to earn the SAC Player of the Week award. She also hit an impressive .377 in the two contests and added a pair of service aces.
On Tuesday against Lees-McRae, Murach finished with 12 kills, 10 digs and three blocks. The sophomore then added 13 kills, nine digs and three blocks on Friday versus L-R.
Behind Murach, Wingate has won 11-straight matches and leads the conference standings at 10-2.

Dean, the SAC Specialist of the Week, helped Tusculum move into the No. 2 spot in the SAC standings by piling up 111 digs and six assists in wins over Lincoln Memorial, Newberry and Anderson.
The junior's best performance of the week came on Saturday at Anderson, where she finished with a school-record 47 digs and an assist in TC's 3-1 victory.
Dean entered last week as the nation's leader in digs per set. This marks her third SAC Specialist of the Week selection of 2012.
