LMU’s Fowler, Tusculum’s Dean Named SAC Volleyball Weekly Award Winners
A pair of student-athletes from the top two teams in the SAC volleyball standings have been named the conference’s weekly award winners, it was announced Monday.
ROCK HILL, S.C. – A pair of student-athletes from the top two teams in the SAC volleyball standings have been named the conference's weekly award winners, it was announced Monday.
Blaire Fowler, a senior at Lincoln Memorial, was named the SAC Player of the Week after averaging 4.4 kills and 2.9 digs per set last week as the Railsplitters picked up three conference wins.
In a showdown with Tusculum – which entered the contest unbeaten in SAC play – Fowler recorded a double-double of 21 kills and 19 digs as LMU won the match, 3-1.
Fowler also recorded double-digit kills in LMU's sweeps of Lenoir-Rhyne and Brevard.
Behind Fowler, LMU has won five-straight matches and is 5-1 in conference play.

Tusculum junior Caitlyn Dean was selected as the league's Specialist of the Week after averaging 9.6 digs per set in the Pioneers' three matches last week.
Dean had 38 digs in TC's loss to LMU, and followed with 24 in a 3-0 win over Newberry and 34 in another sweep versus Anderson. She also added four service aces and four assists on the week.
Dean currently leads the SAC by averaging 7.15 digs per set.
