Six SAC Volleyball Teams Ranked in NCAA Regional Poll
INDIANAPOLIS - Six SAC volleyball programs, led by No. 1 Wingate, have been ranked in this week's NCAA Southeast Region Poll. Wednesday's rankings, as voted on by the NCAA Division II Volleyball Committee, are the final set before NCAA Volleyball Championship selections on Sunday, Nov. 13.
After being ranked second last week, Wingate was tabbed No. 1 in Wednesday's regional rankings by the committee. The Bulldogs finished the regular season a perfect 27-0, winning their sixth-straight SAC regular season championship.
Wingate will also be looking for its sixth-consecutive Food Lion SAC Championship title when the event gets underway on Friday in Harrogate, Tenn.

WU is followed in the polls by No. 4 Lincoln Memorial. LMU
finished tied for second in the SAC regular season standings with a
14-4 conference record and a 22-5 overall mark.
Catawba, which also finished 14-4 in the SAC, is No. 5 in the regional rankings, followed by No. 6 Tusculum, No. 7 Newbery and No. 8 Lenoir-Rhyne.
The winner of the 2011 Food Lion SAC Volleyball Championship will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Volleyball Championship. At-large selections to the event will be announced on a live selection show at www.ncaa.com on Sunday at 10 p.m.
