Wingate Duo Earns Volleyball Weekly Awards

ROCK HILL, S.C. - Wingate volleyball players Anna Hilton and Maggie Malone have been named SAC Players of the Week, after the pair led the Bulldogs to a perfect week and extending their record conference win streak to 73 matches.

Hilton, the SAC Player of the Week, did a little bit of everything in Wingate's two road wins, compiling 18 kills, 22 digs, five blocks and seven assists.

She had seven kills, 15 digs and four assists in the sweep at Anderson, followed by 11 kills, seven digs, five blocks and three assists in the Bulldogs' four-set victory at Newberry.

Specialist of the Week honors went to Malone, who averaged 7.29 digs per set on the weekend, leading a Wingate defense that held its opponents to an .031 hitting percentage.

Malone had 17 digs in Wingate's sweep at Anderson, while piling up 34 digs in its win at Newberry.
