Wingate’s Hilton, Willis Earn Week 2 Volleyball Awards

ROCK HILL, S.C. - Wingate student-athletes Anna Hilton and Liz Willis earned the SAC volleyball weekly awards after leading the Bulldogs to a pair of victories. WU's wins over Carson-Newman and Lincoln Memorial extended the program's streak of consecutive conference victories to 66.

Hilton's well-rounded performance garnered the sophomore Player of the Week honors. Hilton average 4.12 kills, 1.12 assists, 3 digs and 0.75 per set. She notched double-doubles in both matches, tallying 16 kills and 14 digs against Carson-Newman, followed by 17 kills and 10 digs against LMU.

The Hickory, N.C. native also added a pair of service aces on the week.

Willis was named Specialist of the Week on the heels of two very strong performances. Against C-N, the senior racked up 50 assists, 20 digs and three aces, then turned in a 45 assist, eight dig, five kill effort against Lincoln Memorial.

Her numbers averaged out to the tune of 11.88 assists and 3.75 digs per set.

Wingate is a perfect 6-0 on the season.
