Carson-Newman’s Mozgai, LMU’s Kiwacka Named Volleyball Players Of The Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Carson-Newman College outside hitter Carly Mozgai has been named the Volleyball Player of the Week, while Lincoln Memorial University right side hitter and setter Lauren Kiwacka has been named Volleyball Specialist of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Mozgai, a senior from Greensboro, N.C. (Northwest Guilford HS) guided the Lady Eagles to a perfect 3-0 record on the week, including a 2-0 mark in South Atlantic Conference play. Mozgai hit .348 with 49 kills, 37 digs and six blocks. She averaged 4.9 kills, 3.7 digs and 0.6 blocks per set for the week. Mozgai tallied 18 kills, 14 digs and three blocks in a 3-1 win over Maryville. She followed that performance up by recording 17 kills with a hitting percentage of .500, nine digs and two blocks in a 3-0 victory over Newberry. Mozgai closed out the week by collecting 14 kills and 14 digs in a 3-0 sweep of Anderson. Mozgai and the Lady Eagles have won four straight matches and are now 9-3 on the season and 3-3 in the conference.

Kiwacka, a senior from Tipp City, Ohio (Bethel HS), averaged a double-double and was three kills away from averaging a triple-double as the Lady Railsplitters went 2-0 for the week, both wins being against SAC competition.
Against Anderson, she had her first triple-double of the season, hitting .526 with 10 kills, 23 assists and 11 digs.
In LMU's 3-2 win over Newberry, she had 7 kills, 24 assists, 13 digs and 4 total blocks.
