Tusculum’s Luebke, Garcia Named Volleyball Players Of The Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Tusculum College sophomore outside hitter Katie Luebke (Bellefontaine, Ohio) is this week's South Atlantic Conference volleyball Player of the Week. Pioneer freshman libero Erika Garcia (Dayton, Ohio) is the SAC volleyball Specialist of the Week, giving Tusculum a sweep of the weekly awards for the second time this season.
A graduate of Bellefontaine High School, Luebke averaged 4.43 kills and posted a .336 hitting percentage to lead the Pioneers to a perfect 4-0 week. In Tusculum's 3-1 win at Lincoln Memorial University Wednesday, she posted 25 kills and eight digs. Luebke also accounted for a .333 hitting percentage (25-7-54) against the Railsplitters.
Luebke and the Pioneers won three matches Saturday. In TC's 3-0 win over Milligan College, Luebke had 16 kills, 11 digs and four blocks to go along with a .379 hitting percentage (16-5-29). She posted 12 kills and 16 digs in a 3-1 victory over Meredith College. In conclusion, Luebke had nine kills and six digs in a 3-0 victory over Virginia Intermont College.

In the Virginia Intermont contest, Luebke posted her best attack percentage of the week with .412 (9-2-17). She also recorded six digs and three service aces in the Virginia Intermont victory.
Tusculum freshman libero Erika Garcia averaged 5.29 digs per set to lead the Pioneer volleyball team to a perfect 4-0 record last week. In TC's 3-1 win at Lincoln Memorial, Garcia tallied 20 digs.
The Beavercreek High School product recorded another 20-dig effort in a 3-0 win over Milligan. She also posted double-figure digs in victories over Meredith (19) and Virginia Intermont (15).
The SAC Volleyball Players of the Week are determined by a vote of the sports information directors of the league.
