Newberry’s Priscila Sales Named Volleyball Player Of The Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Newberry College outside hitter Priscila Sales, of Belo Horizonte, Brazil, has been named the South Atlantic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 28.
Sales, a junior, earns the honor for the first time in her career after helping the Lady Indians to wins in two of three matches last week.
Sales totaled 50 kills over 11 games last week, including a high
of 19 in a three-game sweep of Tusculum, who entered as the South
Region's eighth-ranked squad. She reached double figures in kills
in all three matches and posted a double-double with 17 kills and
13 digs in a loss to USC-Aiken.
For the week, Sales averaged 4.6 kills while hitting at 27.7 percent. She delivered five aces with a pair of blocks and averaged 1.8 digs per game. For the season, Sales leads Newberry by averaging 3.9 kills a game.
The SAC Volleyball Player of the Week is determined by a vote of the sports information directors of the league.
