Tusculum’s Vivian Lacy Named Volleyball Player Of The Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Tusculum College's Vivian Lacy has been named the South Atlantic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 23.
The senior outside hitter helped the Pioneers to a perfect 4-0 mark for the week, including a conference win over Carson-Newman. It is the first league player of the week honor for Lacy this season. She earned the award once last season.
The former standout from River Ridge High School (Palm Bay,
Fla.),
averaged 5.5 kills over her three matches last week and hit at 36.6
percent. She chipped in with 15 digs and 10 blocks with a pair of
aces over 10 games during the week. She had 20 kills and seven
blocks in Tusculum's four-game win over Carson-Newman and had 22
kills and six digs in a three-game sweep of Augusta State.
For the week, Lacy totaled 55 kills with an average of 1.5 digs and one block per game. She is currently the only player in the nation to post two matches with 30 or more kills.
The SAC Volleyball Player of the Week is determined by a vote of the sports information directors of the league.
