Wingate to face Tampa in NCAA Volleyball Tournament
INDIANAPOLIS -- Wingate University, which won the 2006 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Volleyball Tournament to earn the league's automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament, will play at the University of Tampa in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
The NCAA Division II Women's Volleyball Committee announced the field of 64 teams for the 2006 NCAA Division II Women's Volleyball Championship. The committee selected eight teams from each of the following regions to participate in the championship: Atlantic, Great Lakes, North Central, Northeast, Pacific, South, South Central and Southwest.
Eight eight-team regionals will be played at on-campus sites. Regional competition will be single-elimination, best three-of-five game matches and will not include a third-place match. The winners of each of the eight regionals will advance to the finals, November 16-18, at the NCAA Division II Fall Championships Festival held on the campus of the University of West Florida in Pensacola, Florida. Competition at the finals site will be single-elimination, best three-of-five game matches.
The Bulldogs will face region host Tampa, ranked No. 2 nationally on Wednesday. Match times will be announced by the region host.

November 9-11 at Tampa, Florida
