Presbyterian’s Brown Named To 2005 Daktronics All-American Team
MIAMI SHORES, FL - Presbyterian College senior volleyball player Jasmin Brown has been named to the 2005 Daktronics All-American Volleyball third team announced today by school officials. She becomes first Lady Blue Hose volleyball player to earn Daktronics All-American honors.
Brown, a 5-11 middle blocker from Alpharetta, Ga., earned 2005 SAC Player of the Year and first team All-South Region and All-SAC honors after leading team and the SAC in hitting percentage (.411) and kills per game (4.05). She also ranks ninth nationally in hitting percentage and earned SAC Player of the Week honors three times this season. The 2004 SAC All-Tournament and two-time All-SAC selection, finished her career ranking third in program history in career kills (1,745), career total blocks (536), and blocks per game (1.03). She is one of only three players in program history to compile 1,500 kills and 500 blocks in their career.
Brown helped lead the Lady Blue Hose program to a four-year mark
of 113-32, four straight years finishing in the top three in the
SAC including winning a share of three straight SAC regular season
titles (2003-05), the 2004 & 2005 SAC Tourney titles, and two
consecutive trips to the NCAA Division II South Regional (2004
& 2005). This season, the Lady Blue Hose have compiled a 32-5
overall record, won the 2005 SAC Championship with a perfect 14-0
league mark, won the 2005 Food Lion SAC Tournament title, and
earned the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division II South
Regional Tournament.
