Presbyterian’s Friday Named to Daktronics Volleyball All-South Region Second Team

FT. LAUDERDALE, FL- - The 2004 Daktronics Volleyball All-American South Region First and Second Teams were announced on Wednesday with Presbyterian College's Erin Friday being named to the second team.

Friday, 5-8 junior outside hitter from Summerville, S.C., led the Lady Blue Hose and the SAC in kills (576), kills per game (4.57), while also ranking fourth in the SAC service aces per game (0.40), and fifth in hitting percentage (.300) this season. She earned SAC Player of the Week honors three times and reached a significant milestone on October 5th versus USC Upstate when she became the program's 12th player to reach 1,000 kills in their career.

She was also named the 2004 SAC Player of the Year and selected to the first team All-SAC squad. Friday becomes the seventh Lady Blue Hose player to earn SAC POY honors as the program has won the honor for a SAC-record eight times in the 15-year history of the league. She was also named to the 2004 SAC All-Tournament team after leading her team to the 2004 Food Lion/SAC Tournament title. She will enter her senior season with 1,291 career kills which ranks 10th best in program history.

The Lady Blue Hose finished the season with a 28-8 overall record, won a share of their second straight SAC regular season title, won the 2004 Food Lion/SAC Tournament title and advanced to the NCAA Division II South Region Tournament for the second time in program history.
