Wingate's Brooks and LMU's Parrish Take Home SAC WePlayed Sports Indoor T&F Athlete of the Week Honors

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its WePlayed Sports Women's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for meets contested during the seventh week of competition. Wingate's Evie Brooks earned the track honor while Lincoln Memorial's Ashley Parrish garnered field honors.

Brooks, a sophomore distance runner from Horncastle, Great Britain, had a big weekend at the Boston University Valentine Invitational. She set a new Wingate school record in the mile with her time of 4:45.62. In the 1500 meters, Brooks ran a 4:27.14 personal-best mark.

Parrish, a sophomore thrower from Maryville, Tenn., took second in the women's shot put with a distance of 40 ft 7 /12in and third place in the women's weight throw with a distance of 47 ft 3 1/2in.
