The South Atlantic Conference Announces Seeds for 2023 Women's Tennis Championship
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The Tusculum Pioneers and the Wingate Bulldogs claimed a share of the South Atlantic Conference Regular Season Championship, as the Conference regular season came to a close on Monday (April 17) afternoon. Both teams finished with records of 11-1 in conference play, however, the Pioneers will be the No. 1 seed in the SAC Women's Tennis Championship, which starts next week, by virtue of a 4-3 head-to-head win during the regular season against the No. 2 seed Bulldogs.
Newberry closed out the season with a 10-2 conference record and will be the No. 3 seed, while Anderson will be the No. 4 seed with a 9-3 record. Catawba slides into the No. 5 spot with an 8-4 SAC record, and Limestone will be the No. 6 seed after finishing the regular season with a 7-5 record. The No. 7 seed will be Lenoir-Rhyne, who finished the regular season at 7-5 in SAC play. Limestone won the tiebreaker with Lenoir-Rhyne by virtue of a 5-2 head-to-head victory.
Earning the No. 8 seed is Carson-Newman with a 4-8 record. Carson-Newman won the tiebreaker with Lincoln Memorial thanks to a 4-3 head-to-head victory.
The 2023 South Atlantic Conference Women's Tennis Championship will be played at the Palmetto Tennis Center in Sumter, S.C. beginning with quarterfinals on Thursday (April 20), followed by semifinals on Friday (April 21) and finals on Saturday (April 22). The Conference Championship schedule is as follows:
