The South Atlantic Conference Announces Seeds for 2022 Women's Tennis Championship
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The Queens Royals and the Wingate Bulldogs claimed a share of the South Atlantic Conference Regular Season Championship, as the Conference regular season came to a close on Saturday (April 16) afternoon. Both teams finished with a record of 11-1 in conference play, however, the Royals will be the No. 1 seed in the SAC Women's Tennis Championship, which starts next week, by virtue of a 4-3 head-to-head win during the regular season against the No. 2 seed Bulldogs.
Carson-Newman closed out the season with a 10-2 conference record and will be the No. 3 seed, while Newberry will be the No. 4 seed with a 9-3 record. Tusculum slides into the No. 5 spot with an 8-4 SAC record, and Anderson will be the No. 6 seed after finishing the regular season with a 7-5 record. The No. 7 seed will be Lenoir-Rhyne, who finished the regular season at 6-6 in SAC play, while Lincoln Memorial will be the No. 8 seed after closing out the season at 5-7. Lincoln Memorial won the tiebreaker with Limestone, who also finished at 5-7, by virtue of a 4-3 head-to-head victory.
The 2022 South Atlantic Conference Women's Tennis Championship will be played at the Palmetto Tennis Center in Sumter, S.C. beginning with quarterfinals on Thursday (April 21), followed by semifinals on Friday (April 22) and finals on Saturday (April 23). The Conference Championship schedule is as follows:
