The South Atlantic Conference Announces Seeds for 2018 Women's Tennis Championship
Wingate claims eighth straight SAC Regular Season Title. Wingate, Tusculum, Queens and Newberry earn top four seeds, will host quarterfinals.
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The Wingate Bulldogs claimed their eighth straight South Atlantic Conference Regular Season Championship, as the Conference regular season came to a close on Saturday (April 14) afternoon. The Bulldogs finished the season with a perfect 10-0 record in SAC play and they will be the No. 1 seed in the SAC Women's Tennis Championship, which starts next week.
Tusculum closed out the season with a 9-1 conference record and will be the No. 2 seed, while Queens will be the No. 3 seed with an 8-2 record. Newberry slides into the No. 4 spot with a 7-3 SAC record, and Lincoln Memorial will be the No. 5 seed after finishing the regular season with a 6-4 record. The No. 6 seed will be Anderson at 5-5 in SAC play, with Carson-Newman earning the No. 7 seed with a 4-6 SAC record and Lenoir-Rhyne will be the No. 8 seed with a record of 3-7 in conference.
The 2018 South Atlantic Conference Women's Tennis Championship quarterfinals will be played at campus sites on Tuesday (April 17) before moving to the Cayce Tennis Center in Columbia, S.C. for the semifinals and finals on April 20 and 21. The Conference Championship schedule is as follows:
