Lenoir-Rhyne's Murchland Named South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Women's Tennis Player of the Week
Lenoir-Rhyne’s Emily Murchland has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for matches played April 2-8, the League announced today.
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Lenoir-Rhyne's Emily Murchland has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Women's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played April 2-8, the League announced today.
Murchland, a junior from Mount Victoria, New Zealand, went 2-0 in singles play last week, defeating her opponents from Catawba and Coker. In her come-from-behind win over Coker, Murchland was down a set, but battled back to win the match, and secure the Bear's 5-4 win. With the victory, the Bears clinched the program's first-ever berth in the SAC Women's Tennis Championship.
This is Murchland's first Player of the Week honor this year.
