The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf Women's Soccer Players of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Women's Soccer Players of the Week for matches played during the third week of the 2021 season. Catawba midfielder Sydney Jimmo was named the offensive player of the week, while Carson-Newman goalkeeper Lilly Ebner was named defensive player of the week.
Jimmo, a sophomore from Shelburne, Vt., had a big week for Catawba as she led the Catawba Indians to a 2-0 record with wins over Chowan (5-1) and Anderson (4-0). She scored a hat trick with two assists in the Chowan victory and then added two goals and an assist against Anderson. For the week she had five goals with three assists for 13 points.
Ebner, a sophomore from Hohentengen, Germany, picked up two SAC shutout victories last week, defeating Mars Hill 2-0 and Wingate 1-0 in overtime. She made seven saves in the two matches in over 187 minutes of action.
