LMU’s Becky Thompson Named Women’s Soccer Player Of The Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. - Lincoln Memorial University junior forward Becky Thompson has been named the 2009 season's first South Atlantic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
Last week, Thompson (Frederick, Maryland) helped the Lady Railsplitters open the 2009 season with 2-0 and 6-0 wins over Asbury College and Barton College.
A Preseason All-South Atlantic Conference First Team selection,
Thompson scored a goal and assisted another in LMU's 2-0 win over
the Eagles, while scoring a hat trick in Saturday's 6-0 rout of
Barton College. Thompson completed the first week of the 2009
season with four goals and one assist for nine total points to lead
LMU to a 2-0 record.
