The South Atlantic Conference Announces WePlayed Sports Cross Country Runners of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its WePlayed Sports Cross Country Runners of the Week for meets competed in during the fourth week of the 2024 season. Catawba's Madi Clay was named the Women's Runner of the Week while Wingate's Hamza Chahid was named the Men's Runner of the Week.

Clay earned her second Runner of the Week honors with a top-five finish at the Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, Pa. The junior from Morganton, N.C. ran a 21:23.3 earning her third straight top-5 finish helping the Catawba Indians to a second-place finish.

Chahid finished second out of 374 runners at the Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, Pa, on Saturday. The senior from Morocco led the Bulldogs to an overall victory as he ran his personal-best 8k time of 23:19.1.
