Catawba's Porter and E&H's Lee Honored as SAC WePlayed Sports Men's Indoor T&F Athletes of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its WePlayed Sports Men's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for meets contested during the final week of competition. Catawba's Win Porter earned the track honor while Emory & Henry's Gavin Lee garnered field accolades.
Porter, a senior sprinter from Loxahatchee, Fla., represented Catawba at the 2025 USATF Indoor Championships in Staten Island, N.Y. on Sunday, which aired live on NBC. Porter ran a personal-best 6.68 in the 60-meter dash which is the third-best time in the conference this year.
Lee, a junior thrower from North Tazewell, Va., won the weight throw at the JDL Last Chance Invitational on Saturday with a school-record and league-leading mark of 17.94 meters. His toss is .39 meters (1' 3.25") farther than second place (teammate) and .83 meters (2' 8.64") farther than a competitor from another school.
