Limestone's Debrock and Newberry's Hunter Named South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Men's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Limestone's Augustin Debrock was named the South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week, and Newberry's Jase Hunter was named the South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for meets contested during the eighth week of the indoor track & field season, the Conference office announced today.

Debrock, a graduate student distance runner from Saint Piat, France, set a new Limestone record in an 800-meter run with a time of 1:52.73 seconds while taking third at the USC Indoor Open last week. The mark is also the top 800m time in the SAC this season.

Hunter, a sophomore thrower from McDonough, Ga., won the weight throw at the USAC Indoor Open last week with a toss of 17.47 meters. With the throw, Hunter set a Newberry program record and earned the top mark in the SAC this season.
