Emory & Henry's Hall and Wingate's Hyland Named South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Men's and Women's Golfers of Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Emory & Henry's Katie Hall was named the South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Women's Golfer of the Week, and Wingate's Jordan Hyland was named the SAC WePlayed Sports Men's Golfer of the Week for events played during weeks seven and eight of the 2024 spring season, the Conference office announced today.

Hall, a sophomore from Abingdon, Va., led the Wasps to a first place finish as a team and took home medalist honors at the Alice Lloyd Spring Invitational. She shot a three-over-par 147 (70, 77) for the two-round event and recorded the program's first-ever under-par round in the first round of play. Additionally, the Wasps took home the top three spots in the tournament and won the event by 40 strokes.

Hyland, a graduate student from Omagh, Northern Ireland, led the Bulldogs to a pair of top-five finishes as a team, and captured two top-five finishes individually. He had a scoring average of 71.5 over six rounds of golf, carding rounds of par or better in five of those six rounds. Hyland placed fifth at the 24th Annual Hargett Memorial with a three-round total of 215, and placed second at the Tennessee River Rumble with a three-round total of 214.

The bi-monthly award is awarded to the top golfer in the SAC based on their results from the previous two weeks of play.
