Anderson women’s basketball student-athlete Alissa Diaz and Wingate volleyball student-athlete Grace Krauser have been selected to represent the SAC as nominees for the 2013 NCAA Woman of the Year award.

Tusculum's Rakes Named Capital One Baseball Academic All-American of the Year

Tusculum College pitcher Taylor Rakes has been named the 2013 Capital One NCAA Division II Baseball Academic All-American of the Year, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Rakes becomes the first student-athlete in school history to be named Academic All-American of the Year for their sport.

Six SAC Student-Athletes Earn Capital One Academic All-District Honors

A total of six student-athletes from the SAC have been selected to the 2013 Capital One Academic All-District At-Large Team, which recognizes top student-athletes for their performances athletically and in the classroom. The At-Large Team includes the SAC-sponsored sports of men’s tennis, women’s tennis, men’s golf and women’s golf.

SAC Lands Four on Capital One Academic All-District Baseball Team

Four student-athletes from the SAC have been selected to the 2013 Academic All-District 3 Baseball Team, it was announced on Thursday. Players receiving Academic All-District honors must have legitimate athletic credentials, possess at least a 3.30 GPA and have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing.
