The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Lenoir-Rhyne's Abbie Brown has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week for games played Oct. 1 - 8, the League announced today.
Brown, a junior from Leeds, England, scored a goal in each game as the Bears went 2-0 last week. She picked up the eventual game winner in the 16th minute of a 2-0 victory over Mars Hill on Oct. 4. Eighteen seconds into the game vs. Mars Hill she completed a pass to Hannah Van Eerden who found the back of the net for the fastest goal to start a game in Lenoir-Rhyne's Women's Soccer program history. Later, in the 49th minute she found the back of the net to put the Bears up 2-0. For the second game on the week she scored the eventual game winner as they picked up a 3-1 victory over Anderson. The award is her first Player of the Week honor this season.
