Seven SAC Volleyball Players Earn AVCA All-America Honors
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 30, 2022) – The American Volleyball Coaches Association is pleased to announce its 41st annual All-America Teams for NCAA Division II women's volleyball.
The 2022 class includes 42 players—14 on the first, second, and third teams—from 29 schools.
The South Atlantic Conference had seven All-America selections with Wingate's Shannon Kasprak earning second team honors and Molly Lambillotte was named to the third team. The following players were named to the Honorable Mention team: Sarah Goddard from Mars Hill, Emily Johnson from Wingate, Noelle Knutsen from Anderson, Julia Wheeler from Carson-Newman, and Maggie Young from Wingate.
The quarterfinals of the 2022 NCAA Division II National Championship get underway tomorrow, Dec. 1, which is also the day the AVCA will announce the National Player, Coach, and Assistant Coach of the Year winners. Wingate will take on West Texas A&M tomorrow at 3 p.m.
The 2022 All-America selections were made by the AVCA Division II All-America Committee: Chuck Waddington of Angelo State University (Chair), Tia Brandel-Wilhelm of Ferris State University, Christa Cooper of the University of New Haven, Chris Herron of Washburn University, Gretchen Krumdieck of Georgia College, Laurie Lokash of Slippery Rock University, Mika Robinson of Rollins College, and Jonathan Scott, Point Loma.
