Wingate Takes the Top Spot in NCAA Southeast Regional, Queens, Carson-Newman and Anderson Also Earn Bids
ROCK HILL, S.C. (theSAC.com) – The Wingate Bulldogs, the Queens Royals, the Carson-Newman Eagles, and the Anderson Trojans will all represent the South Atlantic Conference in the NCAA Division II Women's Volleyball Southeast Regional, the NCAA announced tonight.
Wingate is the No. 1 seed, Queens is the No. 2 seed, with Carson-Newman earning the No. 3 seed, and Anderson taking the No. 6 seed.
The previously ranked Bulldogs will host regionals starting on Dec. 5 at 7:30 p.m. in Cuddy Arena against the No.8 Seed Emmanuel. The SAC Women's Volleyball Tournament Runner-up Royals will take on the No. 7 seed Flagler, while this year's SAC Volleyball Tournament Champion Eagles will go up against fellow conference opponent the No. 6 seed Anderson.
Eight eight-team regionals will be played at on-campus sites. Regional competition will be single-elimination, best three-of-five-set matches and will not include a third-place match. The winners of each of the eight regionals will advance to the finals, Dec. 12-14, at the Auraria Event Center in Denver. Metropolitan State University of Denver will serve as the host. Competition at the finals site will be single-elimination; best three-of-five-set matches.
