Tusculum's McMillen Named 2020 SAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Elite 20 Winner
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Tusculum University senior distance runner Nicole McMillen was honored as the 2020 Elite 20 Award winner for women's outdoor track & field, presented by the South Atlantic Conference on Thursday (April 30).
This award honors the student-athlete with the top cumulative grade-point average (based on a minimum of 48 credit hours) in each of the league's 20 team championship sports.
McMillen, a native of Pickering, Ontario, Canada, has a 3.922 GPA while majoring in business administration.
The 2019-20 SAC Women's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Year, McMillen was the top regional performer in four running events for the Pioneers during the 2019-20 indoor season. She set school and conference records in the mile, 3,000 meters, and 5,000 meters and was part of a school-record performance in the 4x400-meter relay. McMillen won gold at the South Atlantic Conference Championships in the 3,000, 5,000 and 4x400-relay to help Tusculum to a third-place finish in the team standings.
