The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week for events during April 1 through April 7. Tusculum garnered the track honors with Nicole McMillen, while Catawba earned the field award with MeKayla White.
A senior distance runner, McMillen ran the 3,000 meter steeplechase at the Lenoir-Rhyne Classic in a time of 10:51.34. The Pickering, Ontario, Canada's debut mark is a NCAA Division II provisional qualifier. This is McMillen's first Track Athlete of the Week honor this season.
A freshman jumper, White won the long jump at the Phoenix Invitational with a leap of 5.88 meters, breaking her own school record. The Burlington, N.C. native also bettered her own school record in the triple jump with a fifth-place finish of 11.23 meters. This is White's first Field Athlete of the Week honor this season.
