The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf Women's Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Coker's Darroneshia Lott has been selected as the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week, and Wingate's Hannah Hinson has been selected as the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for meets contested March 26-April 1, the League office announced today.

Lott, a senior from Pensacola, Fla., punched her ticket to the 2018 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships last week, as she posted an automatic qualifying time of 2:06.21 in the 800-meter run at the Raleigh Relays. She won the event and set a new Coker record in the process. Lott also placed second in the 1,500-meter run and earned an NCAA provisional mark with a time of 4:25.72. Her 800-meter time is the second best in NCAA Division II and her 1,500-meter time is the fifth best in Division II.

Hinson, a junior from Gates, N.C., won two events and set a new Wingate record in the hammer throw last week. Hinson's toss of 48.49 meters set a new school record and won the event at the Wingate/Tiffin dual meet. She also earned an NCAA provisional mark and won the discus with a throw of 44.83 meters.

The award is Lott's second Track Athlete of the Week honor this season, and it is Hinson's first Field Athlete of the Week honor this season.
